Wine Attitude

The world of wines is fascinating, and yet it can also be very confusing. With many different grape varieties and wine regions in the world, it can seem daunting to start learning about wines. To make matters worse, wine has a reputation as something that is associated with the “upper class” and learned people – either you are in or out.

However, at the end of the day, all wine is just fermented grape juice. Whether or not it’s a $10 bottle of Yellowtail or a $3,000 bottle of Domaine Romanee-Conti, that’s what it is. Sure, it can be an expensive bottle that was harvested by virgins in the middle of the night with an explosion of flavour in your mouth that lasts forever, but it’s still fermented grape juice.

Don’t ever be intimidated, both by the wines or the people you drink with. At the end of the day, it’s your palate that tastes the wine and decides if you wine is to your liking, so don’t be afraid to speak your mind.

Every time you feel intimidated, just tell yourself that it’s just fermented grape juice. For sure, wines is truly the most amazing of beverages, with such nuances and differences in taste and texture, that can truly transport you to a magical place, but never forget what it is.
